All about the Tea Tree Oil

The Benefits of Tea Tree Oil are Legendary !

This essential oil is world-renowned and comes from a native Australian tree called the melaleuca. The tree grows in swampy or wet areas and the aborigines have long used it for its prized oil.

Europeans first used the leaves of this tree to make tea while on a voyage to Australia. The oil can be extracted from the trees without having to destroy or harvest the tree. A special distillation process is used and some trees have given oil for well over 60 years.
The aboriginal tribes used this oil for a natural remedy that is now world known for its benefits. The leaves were originally crushed and used for infections and also to treat fungus.

The melaleuca tree still can be found growing wild in Australia but it is also grown in warm climates such as California. A ton of mature leaves is used to make just two gallons of the tea tree oil. Fortunately for us, the tree is fast growing and resilient.

Tea tree oil has an almost endless list of possible uses. Just about any skin irritation can be treated with this wonderful oil. This oil also treats hemorrhoids and soothes and heals burns. Dandruff and head lice and toenail fungus are also irritations that are treated with Tea Tree oil.

The list just keeps growing. Respiratory ailments such as bronchitis and cough are treated with the soothing scent of this oil. Just add a couple of drops to a spoonful of an oil such as almond and it can be used for a rub on the chest for congestion. The vapors are also soothing when rubbed on to a cramping area or other pain.

Acne can also be treated with Tea tree oil by simply putting the oil directly on the blemish.
You can also just add a few drops of the oil to your regular shampoo and it treats dandruff and deters head lice. Basically, nothing acts or works like tea tree oil.
